Huawei announces plan to develop new OS

Huawei has announced plans to create another operating system that will replace android OS powering it’s devices.

Google suspended the company licensee in May following the US Government’s decision to put in a trade blacklist.

The company announced that the operating system, HarmonyOS will first be used in devices such as smart speaker and watches, rather than replacing android in it’s phones and tablets.

“HarmonyOS is completely different from Android and iOS,” said Huawei’s Richard Yu, who announced the project at the Huawei Developer Conference in Dongguan, China.

The operating system will allow developers to create one version of thier own app and then flexibly deploy them across other devices.

Depictions of smart phones, watches, televison, cars and speakers were graphics displayed during his presentation at the conference held in Dongguan, chaina.

What could this mean to world of technology. Can this operating system, HarmonyOS be accepted by majority of the world and force android to go into extinction? only time will tell.
