See court’s position on Kano Governorship dispute.

The supreme court on Tuesday, January 14 2020 fixed January 20 for the judgement on Kano’s Governorship dispute following the march 9, 2019 Governorship election held in the state.

After hearing the appeal by the People’s Democratic Party candidate in the state Kabir-Abba Yusuf, a seven-man panel headed by the chief Justice of Nigeria chief Justice Tanko Muhammed fixed the date for the judgement.

PDP and its Candidate Kabir-Abba Yusuf appealed to the Supreme court after both Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal ruled in favor of the All progressive Congress and its candidate Abdulahi Ganduje.

The people’s Democratic party and its candidate are hoping that the supreme rules in their favor and overturn the decision of the lower courts’ earlier judgement.

Ganduje and APC are also optimistic the supreme court will uphold their victory.
