Africa’s richest man and president of the Dangote group has revealed when he will take over Arsenal football club.
Aliko Dangote is a fanatic Arsenal fan, he has been linked with purchasing of the club which could cost him $4 billion.
He revealed in an interview that he might takeover the club in 2020 or 2021 once he is done with some projects he is currently executing.
He said: I’m not buying Arsenal right now, I’m buying Arsenal when I finish all these projects, because I’m trying to take the company to the next level”.
“We will go after Arsenal from 2020, even if somebody buys, we will still go after it.” He added.
“It is a team that yes I would like to buy someday. But what I keep saying is we have $20billion worth of projects and that’s what I really want to concentrate on. “I’m trying to finish building the company and then after we finish, maybe sometime in 2021 we can,”. The 62-year-old businessman added.
Aliko Dangote currently occupies the 136th position of the richest people in the world and 1st in Africa according to Forbes list.
